Quick Response Service (QRS) or as its better known in the City of Pittsburgh, the "first responders" is a non transporting basic life support vehicle that is staffed with at minimum one pre-hospital emergency service professional. A QRS unit is stocked with basic life support equipment as per Pennsylvania Department of Health standards. Each QRS service must pass a thorough inspection by the Emergency Medical Service Institute to achieve recognition. All pieces of apparatus at Bellevue Fire Company are PA DOH Certified for QRS service with exception of the ladder truck which still has a small compliment of medical equipment for emergency situtations.
