Even on a rainy and miserable Saturday, members of Station 108 remain busy. 2 members are in EMT class, 1 is teaching that EMT class, 1 is taking mod 3 of the essentials program and firefighter Slavicek today has completed her final burn day of essentials and has earned interior firefighter status.

This weekend, 108 Engine and Truck both passed their annual pump and hose tests. These are tests many companies never do, let alone every year, and is another example of the dedication to safety to ourselves and the areas we serve.

For this week's training, crews took advantage of the snow covered roof simulator to practice venting a roof during inclement weather. Not all fires happen on nice sunny days so we need to always be prepared for the worst.

Tonight, at the monthly meeting the company accepted the resignation of current secretary and firefighter Becky Pritchard. Becky has been a member of the Volunteers for the past six years and working her way up from being a young firefighter up to accomplishing her Firefighter I and Paramedic.

Recently, the members decided to purchase a new MPD otherwise known as a multi purpose device for rope rescue evolutions. This new device will cut times down setting up our systems to lower fireman to victims trapped on hillsides and also allow us to haul them back up at a faster rate.

Wed Night Member went up the high school to practice some low angle rope rescue.They practiced setting up 3:1 haul systems and lowering systems, along with ascending over a hillside with the stockes to retrieve a victim.
